Āhilyā is an instrumental composition by me, featuring a confluence of melody through the sitār and harmony through the piano. The composition is based on rāga Alhaiyā Bilāval and is conceived as an offering for contemplative and effortless listening. From the composer’s perspective, three words that best describe this work are flow, peace, and soulfulness. The process of composing Āhilyā emerged from a space of profound stillness, inner peace, and a deep sense of connectedness with nature. The aspiration behind the composition is to translate and share that experience through music, inviting the listener into the same feeling of quiet flow, serenity, and inward reflection.
